Former Indiana star Victor Oladipo is officially back in his home state.
No, not Maryland, where the former top five NBA pick was born - but instead Indiana, where he played his college ball.
After being selected No. 2 overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, and playing there from 2013-16' before being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a season, Oladipo was traded by the Thunder to the Indiana Pacers in a deal that sent Paul George to OKC.
The Pacers officially introduced Oladipo on Friday.
"This is where it all started for me," he said. "Coming to Indiana, I didn't really know what to expect. Didn't know too much about the history.
"But I'm a Hoosier. Living, breathing, anywhere you can imagine I'm a Hoosier. To be able to play for the state's team and represent the Pacers organization, it's a blessing and I'm truly thankful for it."
Oladipo was named a first team All-American and first team All-Big Ten as a junior at IU, after averaging 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Hoosiers. He played 33.2 minutes per game for the Thunder last season, posting 15.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
