This past weekend, the USA Men's U18 National Team announced its roster for the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico.

The tournament will take place from June 6-12.

One member of the roster was 2024 five-star forward and Indiana basketball target Derik Queen. He was the only rising junior to receive an initial invite to the training camp.

There were 27 training camp invitees vying for 13 roster spots. Training camp was run by 2022 U18 National Team coaching staff Tad Boyle (Colorado), Mike Boynton Jr. (Oklahoma State University) and Leon Rice (Boise State University).

The full roster can seen here.

Queen has held an IU scholarship offer since last fall. He was teammates with IU 2022 signees Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau at Montverde Academy (Fla.) this past season.

Queen plays for Team Thrill (Md.) on the UA summer circuit and is having a very good spring.

The 6-foot-9 big man holds offers from Indiana, Maryland, DePaul, Alabama, Georgetown, LSU, Virginia Tech and Arizona State.

Including 2018, USA has won gold in nine of 11 FIBA U18 Americas Championships since the event began back in 1990.
