The Indiana University men's basketball program will have a global presence next month.

According to an Instagram post from former IU forward Max Bielfeldt, he and two other Hoosiers will compete in the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University League in late October.

Bielfeldt will be joined by former IU forward Ryan Burton and former IU guard Nate Ritchie for the second annual World University League 3-on-3 tournament in Xiamen, China. The Hoosier trio will represent the United States at the event, which features 16 men's and 16 women's teams.

The finals of the competition are expected to take place Oct. 21-23, though initial competition could begin as soon as Oct. 15 according to Bielfeldt's Instagram.

In addition to tournament games, the event will also feature a shooting competition for the women's teams and a dunk contest for the men's teams, according to FISU's website.

Each team will feature four players, which means a total of 128 athletes will be participating in the event. Bielfeldt, Burton and Ritchie will be joined by IU senior and former Zionsville [Ind.] Community High School basketball player Dalton Judd.

A 6-foot-8, 240-pound graduate transfer forward, Bielfeldt averaged 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in 35 games during his lone season at Indiana en route to the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year award last season. He also shot 45.3 percent from 3-point range.

Burton, 6-7, 215, spent two seasons as a walk-on at Indiana after transferring from Bellarmine in the summer of 2013. The Bedford, Indiana, native totaled 14 points and nine rebounds in 24 games off the bench during his redshirt senior season in 2015-16, including a season-high six points in 10 minutes against Rutgers.

Ritchie, 6-7, 215, spent one year as a walk-on at Indiana during the 2014-15 season, receiving 15 minutes of total playing time in 15 games.
