The preseason hype and recognition continues to grow on a national level.

Indiana sophomore forward OG Anunoby has been named a preseason third-team All-American by Sporting News, the publication announced Monday. The Jeffersonville, Missouri, native was one of 15 players Sporting News selected for preseason All-American recognition.

The 6-foot-8, 235-pound Anunoby has already become a household name nationally, widely projected by many outlets to be a first-round pick in next summer's NBA Draft. DraftExpress, whose analysis makes it one of the most respected NBA Draft websites, ranked Anunoby as the Big Ten's most draftable prospect for this upcoming season.

Anunoby was also recognized by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as one of 20 finalists for the 2017 Julius Erving Award, given annually to the nation's top small forward in college basketball.

Anunoby and the Hoosiers open their season this Friday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN against No. 3 Kansas in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.
