Tramar Reece saw what he needed in Indiana with one visit in June.

Reece visited Bloomington on June 18 and committed the next day after building a strong relationship with IU coaches Greg Frey and Mark Hagen. The 6-foot-3, 216-pound prospect has been at the core of the 2017 class ever since.

But just who is Tramar Reece anyway?

TheHoosier.com caught up with Reece to discuss a few off-the-field topics to try and get to know him a little better.

Q: If you could only bring one thing with you to your dorm, what would you bring?

A: I don't even know. That's a good question. To be honest, if I could I'd have to take my helmet from high school. I've been through a lot with that.

Q: What stood out the most about your initial trip to Bloomington?

A: When I first got here it was just an absolutely beautiful place. The scenery was amazing. What's it called, "The Walk" that players go through before the games? That's what got me right there.

When i was standing there looking at it and the view of the stadium with the trees in the background and everything, that captured me. I wanted to stay. It's a beautiful place and a great college town.

And also, when I went up there I saw they have a Buffalo Wild Wings. That's one of my favorite places, and there's one not all that far away from the stadium. That was even more satisfying.

Q: If you could play with or against anyone, who would you want to play with or against?

A: Pro-wise, let's see. I'd want to play with either Khalil Mack or JJ Watt. If we were on the opposite sides of the field I'd feel like we'd have one of the best lines in the game.

Honestly, there's a recruit down here named Bobby Roundtree that we're going after. I'd really like to play with him at the college level.

If I had an opportunity I'd want to play against someone like Michael Vick or Cam Newton. That type of mobile quarterback threat would make me that much better. And Michael Vick was my favorite player growing up. He's someone that just changed the game.

He was a great Madden guy, too.

A: Oh, yeah. We're talking '04 on the cover? He was great.

Q: Do you have a favorite movie, television show or book?

A: Oh yeah. My favorite movie is "Any Given Sunday" with Jamie Foxx.

My favorite TV show is a little harder. I've never really thought about it, but I'd have to say an old school cartoon like the original "Teen Titans" or "Looney Toons."

As for a book, I'd have to say "The Giver."

Q: If I gave you all the money you need to travel anywhere, where would you want to go?

A: I would have to go check out Dubai. Aren't they one of the richest countries? Id' like to see how they're living out there and bring some of that back to the U.S.
