Minor commits to Indiana

Three-star prospect LeShaun Minor just posted on his Twitter page that he has committed to Indiana today. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman gave the Hoosiers his verbal pledge today while on campus for an unofficial visit. The standout from Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis H.S. is the sixth commit for the IU program in the 2017 recruiting class.

Minor announced his commitment with this Twitter post:

Minor chose IU over offers from Illinois, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Ball State, Miami (OH), Toledo and Western Michigan. The talented prospect told Peegs.com in late April that the Hoosiers were in his top three along with Minnesota and Iowa State. He said Indiana was standing out because of the way the coaches and players have treated him throughout the recruiting process.

“I like that they are close to home and how they welcomed me in like I was one of the players already on the team,” he said. “I also like the excitement from the coaches.”

The Indianapolis native also told Peegs.com that his bond with the Indiana coaching staff is a strong one, and he appreciates how they are always doing what they can to make him a better player.

“My relationship with the coaches is strong,” Minor said. “I like that they talk to me about my game and how I can get better. Coach (Tom) Allen is a good coach that stays fired up and I like that about him. Coach (Mark) Hagen knows exactly what he's talking about when he talks football.”

Minor is listed as a defensive tackle by Rivals.com, but he said the Indiana coaches believe he has the ability to play multiple spots on the D-line.

"The coaches like how I carry myself and they like my motor,” he said. “They also like how I am quick off the ball and how I use my hands. They see me playing some defensive end and they like my explosiveness off the ball.”

Peegs.com will have more on this developing story.
