IU The First To Offer 2019 In-State Linebacker Beau Robbins

Beau Robbins has grown up watching the Hoosiers.

Now, the class of 2019 linebacker/defensive endout of Carmel, Indiana, has a chance to play for them.

Robbins, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound prospect poised to be one of the top players in the state, picked up an Indiana offer shortly after registering four sacks last Friday against Penn to advance to the state championship game.

"It meant a lot to get my first offer from my hometown university that I have grown up watching," Robbins said in a text with TheHoosier.com. "It's very exciting, it's nice that the university is close to home."

Robbins, who also has interest from Notre Dame already, has been in touch with Indiana since last summer. Defensive line coach Mark Hagen has been leading the charge to land Robbins in the time since.

Robbins may just now be earning serious attention from schools, but local quarterbacks have been aware of him all season. He's quick to get off the line and get right into opposing quarterbacks' faces.

"I take pride in my ability to pass rush and get pressure on the quarterback," he said.

The Hoosiers already have a pair of Robbins' Carmel teammates committed in the 2017 recruiting class in defensive end Britt Beery and tight end Kurt Rafdel. All three will work together Friday in competing for a state championship title against defending champion Center Grove at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Said Robbins: "I cant wait to get a shot at winning the state championship."
