It only took one visit to Bloomington for Jalen Mayala to know he wanted to be Hoosier.

It did not even take the entire official visit for the 6-foot-6, 212 pound defensive end out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer to make his decision.

"I made my decision Saturday and that is when I told the Indiana coaches," said Mayala. "Coach Tom Allen was happy [about the news] and all the coaches congratulated me."

Indiana beat out Arizona and Purdue for Mayala.

"It was all about the coaches and the vibe was unmatched. Those were big reasons why I chose Indiana.

"Coach Hagen is the coach I am closest too, and our relationship has developed more and more. He made me know I was wanted."

Visits are over, a final decision has been made and it will all be official February 5.

"A big burden has been lifted off my shoulder with this decision and I can’t wait to get to Indiana and work," said Mayala.
