Indiana junior forward Jordan Geronimo will enter the transfer portal after three years with the program.
Geronimo committed to Indiana under former head coach Archie Miller after garnering interest from Iowa, Providence, VCU, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Utah and Penn State.
The freakishly athletic forward regressed in his second year under Mike Woodson, seeing the floor sparingly this past season. He hit his peak in last year's first four in Dayton where he was a key contributor to Indiana's win over Wyoming.
When he could put it all together, Geronimo's potential was through the roof and he appeared as a cornerstone player for the future of Hoosier basketball. He battled injuries during this past year which ultimately led to what Geronimo described as a tough season.
Playing in 27 games, six of which he started, Geronimo averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He saw the floor for just over 12 minutes a night, but that number shrunk as the season progressed and Geronimo saw a smaller share of the playing time.
At other times it appeared the game moved too quickly for him, and it was obvious his athleticism could only do so much. Inside The Hall's Williams McDermott captured a picture of Geronimo sitting on the bench for an extended period of time during a timeout before eventually joining the huddle. This would throw fuel to the flames about Geronimo's uncertain future at Indiana.
The New Hampshire native will likely gather a lot of interest from Big East or A10 teams near his home state. His potential impact on a team is undeniable and if a coach can get the most out of him he can be a difference-maker. Being in the shadow of Trayce Jackson-Davis and Malik Reneau stunted his growth, now he will now look for somewhere he can flourish.
