Indiana Elite takes home Vegas title

In front of a national television audience on ESPNU last night, Indiana Elite took home the title of the adidas Super 64 championship with a 79-64 victory over
DreamVision. The hot shooting of Ryan Cline and Kyle Guy led the way all week long in the Las Vegas tournament.

In yesterday's title game, Cline hit 6-for-9 from beyond the arc in the first
half and hit seven 3-pointers overall in a game high 25 point effort. The 6-foot-5 guard
from Carmel committed to Purdue in early June. Despite playing up one class,
rising junior Guy (Lawrence Central) had a big week for Indiana Elite and tossed
in 16 points and dished out four assists in the championship game. Fast
improving 6-foot-10 center Koch Bar had 15 points and a team leading 13 rebounds
for the winners.
Five-star power forward Chase Jeter had 24 points and a game high 17 rebounds
to lead DreamVision, a southern California based team. Fellow five-star and Arizona commit Justin Simon had 13
points and five assists while top 50 ranked forward Bennie Boatwright had 12
points.
The final was a rematch of a Super Pool game played on Thursday and also won
by Indiana Elite, 72-54. Guy led Indiana Elite that day with 17 points while Big
Ten football prospect Grant Weatherford from Hamilton Heights had 16
points on 7-for-9 shooting.
The championship game was the second of two games on Sunday for Indiana
Elite. In the morning semifinals, the Indiana team knocked off Florida Elite,
64-53. Guy had 25 points including 4-for-5 on 3-pointers and Bar had 15 points
to overcome the team led by Louisville commit Deng Adel (13 points).
Probably due in large part to his play this past week in Las Vegas, Guy
picked up new scholarship offers this past weekend from Virginia, N.C. State,
Northwestern and Iowa State. The 2016 prospect had previously been offered by
Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Ole Miss and Indiana State.
Showcase game features IU targets
ESPNU also showed a "Showcase" game prior to the Super 64 title game between
Team Loaded - Virginia and Game Elite out of Georgia. The two teams both
competed in the Super 64 but Team Loaded was beaten by DreamVision in the Sunday
morning semifinals and Game Elite was beaten by the Ohio Basketball Club in
earlier tourney play on Saturday. This game featured a matchup between a pair of
top five ranked players in Thon Maker of Team Loaded and Jaylen Brown of Game
Elite.
Thon Maker, younger brother Matur Maker (Class of 2017) and
6-foot-4 guard Curtis Jones (Class of 2016) are all targets for Indiana
on Team Loaded. Behind 32 points and 15 rebounds from Brown, Game Elite won the
Showcase game in overtime, 73-70. Thon Maker led his team with 21 points and
pulled down 11 rebounds. Jones had 16 points. In the morning 64-58 semifinal
loss to DreamVision, Jones hit five 3-pointers and finished with a game high 27
points. Thon Maker hit 4-for-6 from beyond the arc himself and had 23 points to
go along with 10 rebounds.
