Hoosiers land Texas O-lineman

The IU football program picked up their 13th commit in the 2016 class today when offensive lineman Mackenzie Nworah gave the Hoosiers his verbal pledge. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound standout from Manvel H.S. in Manvel, Texas is the third O-line commit for Indiana for 2016, and the third commit from the state of Texas.

Nworah visited IU last month and afterwards he told Peegs.com that he had a great time on his trip to Bloomington.

“It was great,” he said about the visit to IU. “It was nothing I expected it to be. It was a really great campus and it’s really beautiful. It was good to meet the coaches and the players. They made me feel like I was one of their own. It was just a great experience all together.”

The Texas native told Peegs.com he was also impressed with the fact that offensive line coach Greg Frey had two of his players named to the All-American team.

“It’s very impressive that he had two guys recognized like that this year,” he said about Frey coaching two All-Americans. “It makes you feel good knowing that if you play for him he can help you get to that level.”

The talented prospect picked Indiana over offers from Missouri, Illinois, Maryland, Purdue, Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Utah State and Texas State.

Peegs.com will have more on this developing story.
