De'Ron Davis Scheduled To Arrive On Campus Soon

Indiana four-star signee De'Ron Davis is scheduled to arrive in Bloomington on Aug. 21, his high school coach Danny Fisher confirmed to TheHoosier.com.

Davis, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward from Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado, had to finish up some summer classes back in his hometown in order to satisfy academic obligations before heading to IU. He has two more exams to complete and should be done by the middle of next week, according to Fisher.

On and off the court, Fisher said the summer has been good for Davis.

"He's worked his butt off and has been very committed to working out and his diet," Fisher said via text-message. "He's done excellent in the classroom and seems to have a better understanding of 'student athlete.' The whole ordeal has matured him a ton."

The highest-rated signee in IU's 2016 class, Davis finished his high school career ranked No. 35 in the Rivals150 for the Class of 2016 and as the top prospect in the state of Colorado. He averaged 13.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game his senior season.

Fellow 2016 signee Freddie McSwain, a JUCO transfer from Neosho County [Kansas] Community College who also had academic obligations to satisfy over the summer, on Friday tweeted that he would be arriving in Bloomington this Sunday. The rest of IU's 2016 signees - two-star guard Grant Gelon, three-star guard Devonte Green, and four-star guard Curtis Jones - all arrived and began their enrollment in June.

Fall classes at Indiana begin Monday, Aug. 22.
