Indiana has many all-time greats connected to the basketball program, but in recent years, there may be none more popular than Christian Watford. While his career at Indiana went far beyond one single shot, the 'Wat Shot' will go down in IU history as one of those 'where were you when' moments.

Because of that, the Big Ten Network created a documentary surrounding the shot and aired it on Thursday as part of Indiana's Big Ten Network takeover day.

“They did a great job. A lot went into that, a lot of filming and it went great. It was weird but in a great way," Watford told Indiana Sports Beat. "I just realized how much it really meant to Indiana and the state of Indiana. To have a documentary made after it too, I really enjoyed it."

While it may not be the best shot in Indiana basketball history it may be the most memorable moving forward, replacing Keith Smart's shot.

“I think just because of the social media world. My shot doesn’t compare to Keith Smart’s shot," Watford said when comparing his with Smart's shot to beat Syracuse in the 1987 National Championship. "We were really struggling and what we were going through and the buildup to it is what made it [Watford's shot] really special."

Now, Watford will forever be in the minds of Indiana fans and people living in the state. While most people older than him grew up pretending to be Keith Smart when shooting out in the driveway, the younger generation will be practicing the 'Wat Shot'.

"That’s when you realize that ‘Christian Watford’ is going to be an icon in the state of Indiana," Watford added. "It’s one of those things the way it was done, how it happened, it was crazy."

Though he and his family lived that moment, it was still something special to watch and re-live, this time being all together.

“Yeah I watched it with my family and we really enjoyed it," Watford said. "We would rewind it and watch every detail. It was awesome."
