BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana wide receiver Cam Camper's season is over after he had a procedure done over the weekend, head coach Tom Allen announced on Monday.

"Do want to announce that Cam Camper will not be returning this season," Allen said on Monday. "Had a procedure done over the weekend, and just to try and help him for his long-term, and excited about the procedure going well and getting him 100 percent healthy for the future, and be able to help him in that regard.

The procedure is related to the same injury situation Camper dealt with last season – a torn ACL that ended his 2022 campaign heading into the final third of the year.

"It's the same situation," Allen said, although he didn't confirm if a second tear had occurred or not. "It's just kind of a chance to really get it cleaned up and help him have a really, really 100 percent clean future."

"Obviously Cam's a big loss," offensive coordinator Rod Carey said on Monday, "but on the flip side, Cam is doing the exact right thing, and I told him that too. When he made that decision, I go, 'Yeah, let's go get this right.'"

Camper hauled in 17 catches for 285 yards and a touchdown this season.

The senior wideout has missed time sporadically this season, and was listed as questionable for Indiana's week 10 matchup versus Wisconsin. However, Camper did not dress out for the contest and was seen on crutches.

Camper has at least one season of eligibility still remaining, as his freshmn season was the COVID season at junior college. This season in Bloomington was his fourth, meaning he has the fifth year of eligibility should he choose to utilize it.
