14 - All-time meetings between UNC and Indiana. The Hoosiers lead the series 8-6.

2 - Current IU starters who were missing in-action against North Carolina in last year's 101-86 defeat in the NCAA tournament. Current junior guards James Blackmon and Robert Johnson both missed that game. Blackmon could miss this year's again, as his status is up in the air with an unspecified knee injury suffered against Fort Wayne (Blackmon didn't play Sunday against Mississippi Valley State, but did participate in warmups.)

The Hoosiers beat Kansas (currently No. 6) this season, then-No. 6 Kentucky 73-67 in last year's NCAA tournament, and then-No. 9 Purdue 77-73 on Feb. 20, 2016. IU fell to then-No. 5 Michigan State and the aforementioned UNC team last season.

13 - Overall selection for former UNC forward Sean May in the 2005 NBA Draft following a national title with the Tar Heels and the individual Final Four MVP award in 2005. May - who played high school ball at Bloomington North - currently serves as UNC's assistant to the Director of Player Development.
