New Indiana head coach Archie Miller has landed his first top-50 prospect.

Pickerington (Ohio) North four-star forward Jerome Hunter announced a commitment to the Hoosiers on Monday afternoon via social media.

Hunter had a final five of Indiana, Michigan, Xavier, Ohio State and Pittsburgh.

Indiana's staff made him a massive priority in Spartanburg, S.C., this week for the opening July evaluation period. Miller attended multiple of Hunter's games, and associate head coach Tom Ostrom was also spotted at one.

The relationship with Hunter goes back to when Miller was at Dayton. The now IU head coach had offered Hunter back when he was with the Flyers, and Pickerington is only roughly 90 minutes from Dayton - so there's a lot of familiarity with Miller's Dayton success.

"He [Miller] was real cool," Hunter told TheHoosier.com in March. "He's a chill guy. He's a nice person to talk to.

"He really liked the way I played. We didn't get to talk that much, but, I liked him."

Hunter averaged roughly 19 points and 10 rebounds per game for Pickerington North this season, leading them to a 22-7 overall record.

“It was a number of factors but one has to be Jerome’s relationship with Archie (Miller) dating back to Dayton,” Hunter’s trainer, Andreas James told Rivals.com about Hunter's decision to commit. “They were one of the first schools to offer Jerome and they kind of hit it off from there.”
