After opting out of his $3.4 million player option with the Phoenix Suns earlier this week, former Indiana guard Eric Gordon elected to test his value on the unrestricted free agency market.
On Sunday evening, Shams Charania of TheAthletic reported that Gordon agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Gordon, who's now 35, is set to begin his 17th year in the NBA this upcoming season.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gordon played his high school basketball at North Central High School, where he was named the 2007 Indiana Mr. Basketball.
Gordon then went on to lead the Big Ten in scoring as a freshman in Bloomington during his lone campaign with the Hoosiers.
Drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers with the seventh overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Gordon has made stops all over the NBA. The 76ers will be the fifth different team that Gordon has played for throughout his extensive NBA career.
A season ago with the Suns, Gordon averaged 11 points per game, a career-low.
Entering the twilight of his career, Gordon will have a chance to compete for a championship alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey with the 76ers.
