For the the first time in more than 30 years, Indiana women's basketball has an All-American.
Junior point guard Tyra Buss was named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American Honorable Mention, the organization announced at the Women's Final Four in Dallas.
Buss is the first Hoosier to be named an All-American since Karna Abram and Cindy Bumgarner in 1986. She's the fifth All-American in program history and the first ever WBCA All-American honor.
Buss led Indiana into the WNIT quarterfinals with 18.2 points, 4.7 assists, 2.4 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures in 32 of IU's 34 games and became the first player in program history to record back-to-back 600-point seasons.
She now has 1,601 career points, which puts her on pace to break the all-time scoring record.
Buss was also named an All-Big Ten First Team selection for the second consecutive season.
