According to a report from The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, former IU All-American guard Yogi Ferrell has been called up and signed by the NBA's Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are making room on the roster for Ferrell by releasing point guard Greivis Vasquez, who's currently dealing with an ankle injury.

According to Wojnarowski, Ferrell is expected to dress for the Nets in their game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden tonight (7 p.m. ET, on ESPN).

Ferrell was waived by the Nets on Oct. 21 after playing in three preseason games with Brooklyn. After clearing waivers on Oct. 23, he signed a contract with the Nets' Developmental League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, opening up the opportunity for him to be recalled by Brooklyn.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Ferrell, who was not selected in last June's NBA Draft, averaged 4.3 points and 1.7 assists in 9.6 minutes per game in those three preseason games with the Nets. He also averaged 8.8 points and 1.8 assists in a four-game stint in late July with Brooklyn's summer league team in Las Vegas.

With Ferrell headed to Brooklyn, IU will have six former Hoosiers in the NBA - most since the 1989-90 season according to Pro Ball Hoosiers.
