Jacksonville four-star defensive back Larry Smith announce Friday afternoon via Twitter that he has committed to Indiana. The No. 23 cornerback in the nation, Smith is Indiana's fifth commitment of the 2021 and the first out-of-state addition to the class.

He chose Indiana over offers from Duke, North Carolina, Mississippi and others. He was also receiving interest from Purdue, Louisville, Auburn, Wake Forest and others.

After a class that featured zero additions from the state of Florida, it didn't take long for Indiana to find its first commitment from the state in the 2021 class. And Smith is a big one.

For Robert E. Lee High School, Smith recorded five interceptions, six pass deflections and 51 total tackles. He mostly plays in a safety role in high school and will need to add weight to continue playing that role at the college level, as he currently sits around 170 pounds.
