Class of 2018 three-star Tennessee athlete Jaylin Williams is a Hoosier.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback/wide receiver from Germantown (Tenn.) High School announced his verbal pledge to the Hoosiers Tuesday afternoon, becoming the 13th member of the 2018 class.

"After much consideration and a long talk with the family and coaches, I've decided to commit to Indiana University!" Williams tweeted Tuesday. "I want to thank all the coaches who recruited me and offered me and I wish you all nothing but the best!"

Rated by Rivals as the No. 29 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee, Williams joins two-star Florida linebacker Micah McFadden, three-star Florida defensive end James Head Jr., three-star Washington, D.C. offensive tackle Aidan Rafferty, three-star Georgia wide receiver Miles Marshall, Tennessee kicker Charles Campbell, three-star Georgia linebacker Aaron Casey, three-star Illinois offensive tackle Nick Marozas, three-star Illinois tight end Matt Bjorson, two-star Tennessee wide receiver Jacolby Hewitt, three-star Lowell (Ind.) High defensive back Jordan Jusevitch and three-star South Carolina cornerback Elijah Rodgers in IU's 2018 recruiting class.

Williams initially committed to Ole Miss but backed off his verbal pledge to the Rebels on July 22 after former head coach Hugh Freeze's resignation. In addition to Indiana and Ole Miss, Williams also held offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, Louisiana-Monroe, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Washington State.

According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Williams posted 62 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and eight pass breakups last season, surrendering just three catches all season at cornerback.

As a receiver, he had 36 receptions for 856 yards and 10 touchdowns. Germantown finished 3-8, falling to Franklin (Tenn.) High in the first round of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Division I Class 6A playoffs.
