Staff Predictions

Taylor Lehman: Michigan State 27, Indiana 20 - This game is so similar to the Michigan game. Both Michigan teams have a struggling offense but a very strong defense. I couldn’t get a single takeaway against Michigan but somehow still hung on for overtime. I just don’t think that’ll hold up this week. East Lansing is a tough place to play. Michigan State forces too many turnovers for IU to win the turnover margin.

Stu Jackson: Michigan State 28, Indiana 13 - This isn’t the same Spartan team from last year. It has the No. 3 pass defense in the Big Ten and pulled off an impressive upset over Michigan. IU starting quarterback Peyton Ramsey has already had some experience playing in a true road environment at Penn State, so it will be interesting to see what carryover effect, if any, that has in his first career Big Ten road start. Similar to the Michigan game, I think Michigan State’s defense makes enough plays to win this one.

Jordan Wells: Michigan State 27, Indiana 17 - If this game was in Memorial Stadium I'd be more inclined to take the Hoosiers, but the trend is usually your friend, and Mark Dantonio has done really well against IU outside of last season's loss. Michigan State has an impressive defense and a better passing offense than the Wolverines. IU needs to come out and contend early to shake off last week's brutal loss if they want to pull off the upset.
