Indiana junior guard James Blackmon Jr. will not play Sunday vs. Mississippi Valley State, the program announced less than 15 minutes before tipoff.

The Marion, Indiana, native will miss the contest due to a left knee injury sustained last Tuesday's 71-68 overtime loss at Fort Wayne, according to a statement released by the team.

Blackmon is Indiana's leading scorer at 20.5 points per game through the team's first four games of the season. He finished with 13 in the loss to Fort Wayne.

Redshirt sophomore walk-on guard Zach McRoberts will take Blackmon's place in the starting lineup against the Delta Devils.

Blackmon participated in pregame warmups with his teammates prior to tipoff, so it appears the move is merely precautionary.
