Indiana football quarterback Connor Bazelak is ranked a top-50 quarterback in college football by Pro Football Focus.
Bazelak, a transfer from Missouri, is ranked No. 47 in the country. He is the No. 6 QB in the Big Ten, behind CJ Stroud (Ohio State - No. 4), Taulia Tagovailoa (Maryland - No. 11), Aidan O'Connell (Purdue - No. 15), Cade McNamara (Michigan - No 29) and Tanner Morgan (Minnesota - No. 38).
Bazelak comes to Indiana after 24 career games for Missour. In his career, Bazelak threw for 5,084 yards with a 66 percent completion rate. He also threw for 23 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. In 2020, Bazelak was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Year throwing for 2,366 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions.
This past season he threw for 2,548 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Indiana's quarterbacks struggled all season, combining to throw for just 1,959 yards and nine touchdowns to 14 interceptions. They averaged 5.4 yards per attempts and just a 50.3 completion percentage. And, in five games, the Hoosiers failed to throw for 100 yards.
“He brings a ton of experience, threw for a whole bunch of yards and touchdowns in the SEC, and had a lot of success at Missouri," Indiana head coach Tom Allen said of Bazelak during Spring Practice. "That experience is invaluable just the poise he brings you can see it in the scrimmage situations during practice. He just brings in a kinda real calm confidence to the huddle.”
