ESPN college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg will host this year's Hoosier Hysteria, Indiana athletics announced Monday.

"I can't express how excited I am to be a small part of Hoosier Hysteria," Greenberg said in a statement. "When I think of Indiana Basketball I think of great tradition, passionate fans and the commitment to doing things the right way. Tom Crean is one the elite coaches and innovators in college basketball."

Doors at the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall will open at 5 p.m. ET, and fans who arrive by 6 p.m. will get the annual IU basketball calendar poster for free. The program itself, which annually serves as the official tipoff of the IU men's and women's basketball seasons, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Hoosier Hysteria will feature skits, skill contests, videos, scrimmages and autographs opportunities. Admission to the event is free, but fans are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to Hoosier Hills food bank.

Greenberg is the second ESPN broadcaster to host the event. Sportscenter anchor, NBA Countdown host and Indiana alumna Sage Steele also emceed the event in 2014. E! News' Catt Sadler hosted last year's edition of Hoosier Hysteria.

Greenberg joined ESPN in 2012 and serves various roles across the network, primarily appearing as a game or studio analyst and frequently on Sportscenter, ESPN Radio and ESPNU. He has also served as an analyst for ESPN's basketball version of "College GameDay" since the 2014-15 season.

Prior to joining ESPN, Greenberg coached for 35 years, including 22 as a head coach. He was most recently with Virginia Tech from 2003-12.

Greenberg has tremendous respect for the Indiana basketball program.

"No one does a better job developing players and evaluating players better than Tom,” Greenberg said. “His passion for the game and his players is second to none. He is committed to helping them reach their potential in everything they do. It should be a great night as both teams are coming off strong showings in last year’s NCAA Tournament with two Big Ten Coaches of the Year in Coach Crean and Coach Teri Moren.”
