Nairn made his final official visit this past weekend to Indiana. That
followed trips to Minnesota, Oklahoma and Michigan State, his other
finalists.
"It was crazy up there and the campus was really beautiful," said
Nairn. "It's such a good environment. A basketball place. Football is a
good program but basketball is the number one thing up there. It's like
any other school in my top four, I'm blessed to be being recruited by
Indiana, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Minnesota. But Indiana, their
campus was such a beautiful place."
Nairn's take charge attitude at point guard is what makes him
attractive to the Hoosiers.
"Coach (Tom) Crean told me my leadership ability is the biggest part of
my game, how I could bring that to the (Indiana) team," said Nairn. "We
talked about how I could help them there and how also they could help
me get better with my weaknesses and glue up my game."
Nairn was scouted by extensively Indiana and other finalists this
summer while playing for the MoKan Elite program headed by director
Matt Suther. Yesterday he spoke to our sister site SpartanMag.com and
is confinced the school that lands Nairn is getting a unique talent.
"His speed is special," said Suther. "I've never seen a kid with a
basketball in his hands that was that fast. He is special speed-wise,
and he's a strong kid. He has all the intangibles. He's a great point
guard, he defends, and he has a great basketball IQ. When he gets his
jump shot down, it is going to be scary how good he can be."
Stay tuned to Peegs.com on Thursday for news on the announcement from
the player ranked No. 61 in the Rivals150.
