Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren now has the most wins in program history.

No.6 Indiana matched up against No.21 Illinois on Wednesday, earning the 83-72 win. The win gave Moren 189 career wins surpassing Jim Izard's previous record of 188 wins.

Moren is now in her ninth season as head coach for the Hoosiers totaling a 189-90 record in that span.

During her tenure, she has taken the program to four NCAA tournament appearances including a Sweet 16 in 2022 and an Elite Eight in 2021.

"You do reflect in how you got here," Moren said following the game. "You think about your other assistants and staff that has gone through here with you.. you think about things like that. It's a terrific milestone. I'm grateful that we were able to do it tonight with this group. And it's one those — as I told our players — one of those snapshot pictures that you take in your mind and you will remember for the rest of your life."

Indiana is now 17-1 which ties the best start to a season in program history. The Hoosiers are on a five-game win streak earning their first win in a three-game span against ranked opponents.

'When I was recruited here I could see the vision she had for this program and she is one of the most competitive people I've ever met," IU forward Mackenzie Holmes said postgame. "She hates to lose more than she loves to win and I think that's evident in her passion on and off the court for the game, for us. So it's a special thing that I could help her get this millstone."

Indiana’s next game is on Jan.23 against No.14 Michigan at 8:00 pm ET. The game will be broadcasted on Big Ten Network.
