Layne's reported offers include Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest among others.

He visited Minnesota on Nov. 4, Indiana on Jan. 13 and Wake Forest on Jan. 20.

Initially committed to Minnesota before flipping to the Hoosiers on Jan. 30.

• Good length for his position at 6-0/6-1, 180 pounds.

• Versatile in terms of position (can also play safety.)

• Film shows both explosiveness and solid tackling ability.

2017 projection:

Indiana returns lots of experience on the defensive side of the ball, including veteran cornerback Rashard Fant and rising sophomore cornerback A'Shon Riggins. Indiana should have time to bring Layne along at an appropriate pace.
