Staff Predictions

Taylor Lehman: Indiana 45, Georgia Southern 10 - Georgia Southern is dead last in total offense this season as the only team to average less than three yards per play (2.99). Considering that Rutgers is on that list too, I don’t think the triple option will give Tom Allen’s defense much trouble, though it will be interesting to see the IU defense face a conceptual challenge rather than just a talent challenge.

Stu Jackson: Indiana 35, Georgia Southern 7 - Just don’t see this game being close. Even with all the talk of Georgia Southern’s triple-option offense - and really, they don’t run that or at least have moved away from it toward a shotgun option offense instead - the Eagles are a mess right now. Indiana wins easily against a team that enters the contest ranked last in the FBS in total yards of offense per game and yards per play.

Jordan Wells: Indiana 38, Georgia Southern 14 - The same day Indiana went on the road to knockoff Virginia, Georgia Southern played FCS opponent New Hampshire at Legion Field in Birmingham - a game that was moved from Georgia Southern due to concerns over Hurricane Irma - and fell by 10 points. No need to overanalyze it, the Hoosiers should win and win big in this one.
