Blackmon to return to IU
Freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. plans to return to Indiana for his sophomore season, sources tell Peegs.com.
Blackmon, a McDonald's Al-American from Marion High School, was IU's second-leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, just behind the 16.3 of junior guard Yogi Ferrell.
The 6-foot-4 guard shot 39 percent from 3-point range last year and was IU's second-leading rebounder at 5.3 per game.
Sophomore forward Troy Williams already announced he would return to IU for his junior season.
Ferrell has an announcement scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at an Indianapolis restaurant.
Ferrell, Williams and Blackmon all received information from the NBA regarding their draft prospects.
