3-Star Linebacker De'Morreal Burnam Pledges To Indiana

Merry Christmas, Indiana football. You just got the gift of another commitment.

Three-star linebacker De'Morreal Burnam committed to the Hoosiers on Sunday, selecting IU over a final three that also included Louisville and West Virginia. The former Tennessee commit from Salem, Georgia, is the 18th commitment in the 2017 class.

IU jumped out in front of Burnam's recruitment after a visit the weekend of Dec. 9 while he was still committed to the Volunteers. He decommitted shortly after returning home from his visit.

"Wow man, as soon as I stepped on campus I had a great feeling," Burnam said after his visit. "The students and staff and players just threw me right in. I felt like I was already part of the family."

Burnam continued to cite the home-like feeling that Indiana brought when he committed. He'll be a long way from his Georgia home.

A commitment from Burnam would round out what would be a strong group of linebackers for coach William Inge in the 2017 class. The Hoosiers already have Thomas Allen, the son of head coach Tom Allen, and JUCO product Mike McGinnis committed. Both are enrolling for the spring semester.
