Illinois lands second in-state wing for 2015
Saturday afternoon, those two approaches collided when the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Plainfield (Ill.) East committed to John Groce and the Illini after their home win over Penn State.
The No. 60 player overall in the 2015 Rivals150, Jordan was a major Illini target and had taken several campus visits to programs across the Midwest. Saturday, he decided that he had seen enough and ended his recruitment.
"It just felt like home," Jordan told Brad Sturdy of OrangeandBlueNews.com. "Coach Groce is a great coach and I just felt like I was a great fit in their system. They are doing great things at Illinois."
One of the top shooters in the Midwest, Jordan has good size for a shooting guard and is a fundamentally sound player. His first step is very good and he's dangerous attacking the rim along either baseline.
A patient player, Jordan doesn't get rushed and picks his opportunities to take games over. With good feet, quickness and reach, he has the tools to be an outstanding defender as well.
With Jordan in the fold, the Illini now hold commitments from two four-star wings that are homegrown. He joins 6-foot-7 wing D.J. Williams from Chicago (Ill.) Simeon who currently ranks No. 45 in 2015.
