Pre-game Coverage

The Peegs.com staff have been hard at work getting you ready for today's game. Here's a rundown of stories related to today's matchup as well as a few from our sister Power Mizzou site on Rivals:

Coming into the 2013 season the Indiana coaching staff had improving the running game as one of their top priorities, and three games into the season the Hoosiers' ground game is off to a good start. Led by running backs Tevin Coleman and Stephen Houston the Indiana rushing attack is averaging just over 232 yards per game. Peegs.com spoke with running backs coach Deland McCullough about the progress of the Indiana running game and about the play of Coleman and Houston.

Coleman, Houston a strong 1-2 punch for IU offense

The Indiana Hoosiers will try to pick up their third win of the season on Saturday night when they host the Missouri Tigers at Memorial Stadium. Peegs.com caught up with Gabe DeArmond from PowerMizzou.com to get the latest on a Missouri team that comes into the contest with a record of 2-0.

A look at the Tigers

Through two games this season, Missouri's defense has accounted for three sacks. Two of those sacks came courtesy of defensive line, but only one from a starting defensive lineman.

Where's the pressure?

Entering the 2013 season, one of the downward trending statistics for Missouri's football team was third-down conversions. After converting about 41-percent of third-downs in 2011, Missouri's success rate dropped to 35.12-percent a year ago.

Third Down Breakdown

In our weekly football pregame podcast, the Peegs.com team is joined by PowerMizzou publisher Gabe DeArmond as we preview Saturday's SEC-Big Ten showdown under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

Podcast: Previewing the Tigers

Earlier today Indiana co-offensive coordinator & quarterbacks/wide receivers coach Kevin Johns met with the media after the Hoosiers' Tuesday morning practice. The IU assistant gave his thoughts on the first career start for sophomore quarterback Nate Sudfeld, on the production of the running game in the win over Bowling Green, and whether he thinks Tre Roberson is pressing a little bit when he has gotten his chance to lead the offense.

Peegs.com's Matt Weaver joins the Power Mizzou crew for a Cover it Live chat focusing on Saturday night's battle between the Hoosiers and Tigers. Now you can read the full chat replay.

READING THE DEFENSE: It's no secret that the staff wants James Franklin to be more selective with when he runs. But in situations like the second half against Toledo -- when the Rockets were content to drop seven or eight defenders into coverage -- Franklin isn't afraid to let his legs pick up yardage.

Speed vs. Speed

It's not been since the Kentucky rivalry days that a Southeastern Conference team has invaded Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. That all changes Saturday night when the Missouri Tigers come to town in a game that may go a long way in determining Indiana's postseason aspirations.

SEC Challenge should make for big Saturday night

Indiana faces its first major-conference opponent of the season Saturday when it hosts Missouri of the Southeastern Conference at 8 p.m. (Big Ten Network). Here are 10 takeaways from today's conversations with Indiana's players and coaching staff.

Ten Takeaways

Earlier today Indiana head football coach Kevin Wilson along with coordinators Doug Mallory and Seth Littrell met with the media in anticipation of Saturday's night's showdown with the Missouri Tigers Watch all three Q&A sessions.
