Davis, Hartman help lead Seniors over Juniors

It's a talented Class of 2014 in Indiana with four players ranked among the top 50 in the latest Rivals150. The Indiana Senior All-Stars (Class of 2013), however, jumped all over the Juniors last night in Sullivan en route to a 106-95 victory in the first of two annual exhibitions between the two classes.

Purdue bound Bryson Scott of Fort Wayne led the winners with 19 points while Big Ten target Trevon Bluiett of the Junior team led all scorers with 22 points.

The Seniors jumped out 11-3 and led at halftime, 57-39. After building the lead to as many as 23 points, the Juniors cut the lead to 10 in the final minutes behind the scoring of Bluiett and P.J. Thompson (14 points) but could get no closer. The Juniors were shorthanded on the night, playing without the highest ranked prospect on the team, 6-foot-10 Trey Lyles. The Indianapolis Tech forward was said by an All-Star representative to be up in Canada this week working with the Canadian Junior National Team. Lyles did play for the Junior team in two weekend wins over the Kentucky Junior team.

Indiana signees Collin Hartman and Devin Davis both had solid nights. Hartman had 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Davis was 4-for-7 from the floor in his 11-point night and added eight rebounds.

Peegs.com spoke to both players about the All-Star series and their move next week to Bloomington. That recap should be up on our front page later this morning.

Indiana junior team commit James Blackmon scored all 13 of his points in the second half and added four rebounds and three assists. He had a tough shooting night from the floor, hitting just 3-for-16 field goals including 1-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Earlier in the girls game the Seniors also prevailed, 84-65. 6-foot-3 Notre Dame bound Taya Reimer of Hamilton Southeastern led the winners with 22 points.

The two squads will play the final exhibition on Wednesday night at Tipton High School with the girls game kicking things off at 5:30 pm.. Then on Friday and Saturday the Indiana Senior All-Stars meet the Kentucky All-Stars. The Friday game is at Freedom Hall in Louisville, girls tipping at 5:30 pm.
