BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Brandon Shelby is in his third season as Indiana's cornerbacks coach. He tutored first-year starters Brian Williams and Antonio Marshall in 2012.

Williams made 58 tackles with a half-sack, one interception, one fumble recovery and eight pass breakups, which tied for the team lead. Marshall recorded 38 tackles with 2.5 TFLs and two INTs.

Greg Heban started all 12 games at cornerback in 2011 and led the team with two interceptions, shared the lead with six pass breakups, finished third with 62 tackles and added one sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

Shelby met with IUHoosers.com's Jeremy Gray after Tuesday's spring practice:

Junior Kenny Mullen is Shelby's most experienced stalwart. He started the first five games of 2012 at cornerback and played in 11 overall at corner and nickel back. The Fort Wayne native and Bishop Luers graduate finished the year with 33 tackles, 28 solo, three tackles for loss and four pass breakups.

Mullen appeared in all 12 games at defensive back and on special teams as a true freshman in 2011. He started at nickel back against Northwestern and Purdue and closed the season with 18 tackles, 13 solo, with two sacks and one pass breakup.
