Nike EYBL Top 15 Rankings

The Nike EYBL event at the HAX in Hawthorne from May 19-21 proved to be one of the premier events of the spring and early summer recruiting season. The event was reminiscent of the old "Nike Camps" from 10-15 years ago. It was possible to see under one roof as many as 50 to 60 of the nation's Top 100 players.

The event was attended by hundreds of scouts and media people and it was virtually impossible to see every team and every player. Every person attending this event had a slightly different experience from everybody else.

With this being said we have tried to put together a list of the Top 15 players based on their performance in the games we saw and not on their national reputation and rankings coming into this event. Here goes our list in alphabetical order:

1. Brandon Ashley - (6-9) Dublin (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd.

The sky is the limit for Ashley who likely will be one of the Top 10 players in the class of 2012. He just keeps getting better and better. He can play inside or out and helped make the Drew Gooden Oakland Soldiers one of the most talented teams at the event. He has expressed interest in UCLA as well as other Pac 10 schools. Look for him to be a national recruit soon.
