6 of 9 favorites was what I had on paper yesterday. But all 3 of my dogs were prohibitive, while I had only one prohibitive favorite. All the rest of my favorites were only moderately so.

It only takes a couple of those to not come through to have a bad weekend. I figured I'd lose at least 1, but was hoping I could avoid 2. Kansas was the killer because I thought they'd be relatively safe on their homecourt. Boise I could see coming.

I had to get a big comeback from Mia-O, or I would have had a disastrous weekend. I still have the possibility of Dayton upsetting @ St.Joe's to salvage a mediocre weekend, but Dayton has been bad on the road.

So my chances took a hit this weekend. Prior to yesterday, my "plan" to get to 100 wins before the tournies included only 1 more loss for Kansas and Boise to get to 10 wins. That just got a lot tougher for those 2 teams.

I was right and Pomeroy and Sagarin were wrong about Indiana and George Mason losing. I was right and Pomeroy and Sagarin were wrong about Kentucky winning.

So 8-2 wasn't going to happen. But I 7-3 was possible, because Oklahoma and USC came through. Then Jackson State lost to Alcorn St!! Disaster.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. No way I catch Peegs with Richmond and Jackson State holding me back. I can still have a 6-4 weekend if Duke can get a win today, but I needed 8-2 or 9-1 to inch closer to Peegs. Probably not going to have many chances at that kind of record.

That means that Sagarin and Pomeroy predicted I'd go 8-2 and instead I went 5-5. Ugh.

...from this weekend. No one looked awful who I already didn't think already was awful. The 2 losses that stung me were Kansas's and Boise's. But I think both those teams will rebound.

But I can't afford very many more upset losses if I hope to contend.

Kind of the same deal for you. Other tham lame-o Richmond, all those teams of yours that lost should be able to bounce back. I wouldn't give up hope yet.
