like I said here before, Xavier and UAB are the teams that I just don't trust right now. To have your 1st rounder lose to Duquesne and to lose at home to SMU, those two are really underachieving

Obviously Indiana beat Wisconsin in a toss-up game (you may have heard something about it).
Then Creighton won a road game at Bradley (that Pomeroy predicted they'd lose).
And, as expected, George Mason won at home against Delaware, and Richmond embarrassed themselves at home against Temple.
5-2 week for me so far. Two games to go.

Duquesne is having a weird year. In the off season there was that nut who shot some of their players. You'd think that would have destroyed a program that was already in bad shape.
But they've come up with some big wins. I think they beat BC too. I was ticked when Dayton couldn't beat them, but they're winning some others too.
SMU beating UAB was huge for me. It turned an average week (6-4) into a good one (7-3).
All my 5 of solid favorites won this week (Kan, VCU vs W&M, Mo St, Mia-O and Wi-Mil). Three of those narrowly avoided being upset (Mo St, Mia-O and Wi-Mil).
I only got 1 of my 3 toss-ups (won with Day over GW, but lost with VCU @ Hof and S.Car vs Aub). But I got the big upset win with SMU over UAB. Boise losing to NM St was the only game I viewed as a certain loss that turned out that way.
7-3 was really about as much as I could have expected, and that's what I got. I still think I may be a pretender but I do have some momentum now. My last 3 segments are 7-3, 6-4 and 7-4. Not eye-popping numbers but solid progress.

He had VCU as a solid favorite at Hofstra. I thought no frickin' way, and I was unfortunately right. He almost gave me even odds with Boise at NM St, and again I thought nope. I was right again as NM St jumped all over Boise and controlled the game without too much of a sweat.
Then he made Dayton a decided underdog at home against GW. I figured this was a toss-up, and in fact Dayton won handily.
And I got an upset win with SMU at UAB where SMU was given something like a 17% chance. To be honest I didn't think SMU has a chance either. That's twice in the last week where I've had wins from very low pct chances. Feel pretty lucky about that.

What was encouraging, besides the record, were the wins by Dayton and SMU. I'm hoping that means they'll end up doing a little better than I thought they would a few days ago.
If SMU can somehow avoid being a complete disaster, it would be a big boost to my chances.
I still may be a pretender though. Don't know that I can count on Mo St to win the games I think they should, and Mia-O looked very shakey. I also could be done with wins from Wi-Mil ( I'd like at least 1 more).
