April 17, 2008 Several sources from Bobby Capobianco's traveling team Indiana Elite have confirmed to Peegs.com this morning that the 6-foot-8 forward has indeed committed to attend Indiana University. This would mark Tom Crean's first recruiting commitment since becoming the Hoosier coach just over two weeks ago. Last week we featured the Ohio power forward and he said to us then: "I have a great relationship with Coach Crean and Tim Buckley and those guys---depending on who he keeps from that Marquette staff," said Capobianco. "Certainly if his interest stays with me like it did at Marquette.....he is a great guy and I like him a lot." Capobianco has recently shed about 10-15 pounds since this winter and drew some rave reviews from his practice play in the Indiana Elite One team workouts earlier this month. He averaged about 21 points and 12 rebounds per game this year at Loveland. The decision appears to be in large part to the relationship he developed with Crean back when the new Hoosier coach was at Marquette. "He is one of the most personable guys I have known, I can sit and listen to him for hours," said Capobianco. "I went to a couple practices up at Marquette and a couple games and the way he talks in the locker room, the way he runs his practice---it is very positive. He is not the kind who yells and gets into guys' faces a lot. He will if he needs to but is mostly positive and high energy." |
