Pre-game Coverage

The Peegs.com staff have been hard at work getting you ready for today's game. Here's a rundown of stories related to today's matchup over the past week working back from our latest coverage:

Indiana and UMass will play this Saturday in a game that features two programs that are in the initial stages of being rebuilt. Earlier this week Charley Molnar from UMass spoke with the media during the MAC Head Football Coaches Teleconference about taking over the Minutemen program, as well as what he expects his team to see from the Hoosiers on Saturday afternoon.

Molnar facing a tough transition at UMass

The Indiana football team will try to open the season with a 2-0 record on Saturday when they take on UMass at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Peegs.com caught up with Matt Vautour from the Daily Hampshire Gazette to get the latest on a Minutemen team that is looking to bounce back after a tough loss to UConn.

A Look at the Minutemen

Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson looked like a different guy behind center last Saturday in the Hoosiers' season opening victory at Memorial Stadium. Chalk that up to being a rookie no more.

Roberson a rookie no more

Running back Tevin Coleman and offensive tackle Jason Spriggs were among the group of five true freshman on Saturday night to make a Hoosier debut. The postgame grades for both were well above the passing mark.

Successful debuts

In their win over Indiana State on Saturday the IU offense under head coach Kevin Wilson and offensive coordinator Seth Littrell displayed the ability to play at different speeds. There were times they sped the game up, and there were times when they tried to slow it down. Wilson and Littrell spoke to the media earlier today about the advantage the Hoosiers have on offense when they are able to control the tempo of the game.

Watch what Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson and his staff had to say to the media today at his weekly press conference.

Coach TV: UMass pregame

Second-year coach Kevin Wilson said Tuesday he wants his team to just get a road win. He knows a 2-0 start won't make the Hoosiers Big Ten contenders. "It'll be good to go on the road and win," Wilson said. "It'll be good to get No. 2. To me, we're trying to get W's."

Indiana 1-0 headed to UMass

Three suspended players are back, Kevin Wilson makes a big statement about freshman Jason Spriggs, comments from coordinators Seth Littrell and Mike Ekeler, notes on Shane Wynn, Tre Roberson and a whole lot more following today's practice.
