COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman point guard Aaron Craft was not initially set to be a Buckeye after committing to Tennessee early in the process. Thad Matta and the rest of the Buckeye nation is happy that it didn't work out for him and that he changed his pledge to Ohio State.
Craft has stepped into the vacated point guard (Forward) role left by Evan Turner and has been tough to get off the of the court despite coming off of the bench.
The freshman has been averaging just shy of 28 minutes a game and is averaging 6.5 PPG and 4.9 RPG. But Cheese (as former Buckeye Scoonie Penn calls him) can also score with three straight games in double figures and a career high 19 points against Penn State over the weekend.
We caught up with Craft, fellow freshman Jared Sullinger and head coach Thad Matta to talk about what Craft has meant to the team and his path to Columbus.
