APR's magic number

Peegs.com & Inside Indiana Even before last year's big exodus of players from the Indiana basketball program, the Hoosiers Academic Progress Rate (APR) was at a dangerous level. But the APR has been tweaked by the NCAA, lessening the penalty if the departing player's GPA is high enough. "The magic number is 2.6," said Tom Crean yesterday. "Everything we do now has got to be APR driven."
